Since Bedrock biggest goal is about being less heavy than the Java Edition, I understand why the chunks are loaded differently, however it does not explain how something that could only be done by the player on their own will as the chunk loader not exist in Bedrock Edition, it is something so crucial for a Minecraft world as a whole in terms of creating and being able to mode your own world and by not having something features from Java Edition that are a mark of Minecraft, it just goes against the idea of freedom the player has. And I say this for the many players that might only be able to play on Java for any reasons, or that just like Bedrock but still wishes some key features of Java that Mojang itself is aware of.
If performance is the main issue for not adding some Java Features, why can't we have at the beta versions, thus we'd be able to actually give a proper feedback about how it is doing with Bedrock; and now that we have the new drop update system, it would be so easier to implement this feature among them without an issue, plus little by little.
As a developer, I say that this is truly needed when you aim to keep your users satisfied, through implementing some new ideas, testing them with the users for a greater experiece. And I think this was essentially what made Minecraft more unique back then: the feel of a communitty being able to actually shape along the developers what they wish they most.
