The Screech is a hostile mob that spawns in the Badlands. It looks like a pale villager (basically, it looks like a witch) wearing a vulture mask, tattered clothing and brown boots. It can be seen flying with a few other vultures as it goes. It has two forms; the vulture form and the witch-like form. The vulture form makes it agile, and sometimes, elusive. Known for it's deadly caw, it circles around player, villagers and zombies and makes a loud caw, swooping down and attacking, dealing 2 hearts. In the witch-like form, it attacks with it's beak on the mask, dealing 3.5 hearts of damage. When killed, it drops rotten flesh, feathers, and the "Screech's Mask". This mask allows you to transform into a vulture. The Screech in it's vulture form looks and sounds (idle) way different from the others. It has a shorter beak, black feathers with a white underside, and when cawing and screeching idle, it sounds like someone mocking a vulture with a bit of wheezing and crazy laughter. This mob is good for the Badlands because it adds a sense of carefulness. It also adds a new reward, which can help in several ways.
