The mountain biome is kind of bland. Besides the fact that they are new there is no reason to look for them. A new structure called mountain hut or hermit's hut would be a great addition to the game. A small building or (hut) could spawn in any part of the mountain biome but being more likely higher up. only one to three will spawn in any given mountain range. It would look like any normal villager house made of spruce. It could spawned in ruined or complete and with a chest. The chest could contain coal, torches, stone/iron pickaxe, and leather armour. The complete structure could spawn with a villager type mob called a hermit. It should have a different texture for clothing than any other villager. It would sell items randomly on a day to day basis and would be willing to buy anything you want to sell. It could sell mystery bundles containing random items from flowers and dirt to emeralds and diamonds. They would wander around their hut and spawn with leather boots or a way to walk on the powdered snow. Instead of an iron golem or lamas to protect it it could use dogs. (New dog colors and variants please!) If you attack them their dogs will attack you. The hermit won't respawn and you can't breed them so they are gone if you kill them. They could even have cow pens lower on the slopes.
I think that this and some other ruins or even adding snowdrifts would add alot to the mountains and make it alot more interesting of a biome. Strays should spawn here instead of skeletons.
