Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Star Map

[This is not associated with the telescope or astronomer ideas. How it is made is not at issue here.]

A Star Map would let you go to places on the overworld map by clicking or tapping on a star on the map. This would be a magical property, and should be an advanced feature that people have to work hard to acquire. To use it, maybe you have to add it to a beacon's slot along with a cost item and then it transports you to another beacon you have built represented by a star. The number of tiers on the beacon should not matter. It should simply be a working beacon. It would not be as limited as normal maps.

So you would walk up to a beacon, click its inventory, add the map and pay the cost, then a map of known stars (with beacons that stand out like nether stars) appears and you select the one you want. It transports you to that beacon and returns the map to your inventory, while the cost item (emerald?) is used up.

    What is your reasoning? It is already difficult to acquire and requires a cost. Why would teleportation cause damage? Such a thing never occurs in any fantasy or sci-fi (except teleporter accidents) and real teleportation is expected to be painless and near instantaneous. Nausea, yes, but not pain and definitely not damage. Teleportation is something that has to be perfect or it will kill the person.

    I do like the idea of temporary sickness without damage.
