This method has indeed been used in many graves. The floor was covered with a layer of mineral dust (Fe2O3 hematite). Then the tomb was sealed. If the tomb was opened, then soon the robbers inhaled the dust that rose into the air. It could be fatal.
I suggest adding a block such as a "hematite layer" to the game. It will be as thick as a layer of snow or thinner. When touched, a small cloud of dust rises, causing damage to the player and most other living creatures. Perhaps a rag mask could have prevented damage. This block will possibly appear in a desert temple in a room with chests. Or it will serve as a trap for some new tombs.
