When exploring the 1.18 underground, I noticed a glaring issue in the deepslate caves. Besides lava aquifers, it's not any harder (unless you're in the deep dark biome). An idea I have in mind to make it harder is to give skeletons tipped arrows. The danger of the tipped arrows should increase the deeper you go.
When you get to Y 20, you start seeing skeletons that shoot slowness and weakness arrows. When you get to Y -30, you see skeletons with harming and 5 second poison arrows, but you'll rarely see a skeleton that shoots healing arrows to add spice. The color of the skeleton's bow would determine the arrows they shoot.
Adding this would improve the underground because it helps make the deepslate underground harder that isn't just increased damage.
