Amethyst is a block that I like the concept of, especially as they are very magical like, and in the real world have healing powers and I like the geodes themselves, so how about a head-sized geode to carry around?
To start off with, to craft a mini geode, you would need an amethyst block, 3 calcite, and 4 basalt.
It can be placed down as decor, as many people like having them around for their healing. They would be about as big as mob heads and the direction that the open side would be facing you when you place it. They would have no effect though.
That is until you hold it in your inventory. It would be like a milk bucket with charges. To charge it up you will need to give it amethyst shards. Everytime you get afflicted with a potion effect, you just hold the mini geode, and it will use up a charge for every effect and remove it. It would most likely have 8 charges, and to recharge it, just place the mini geode in the middle of a crafting table and surround it with amethyst shards.
Milk is more renewable and easy to farm, but does consume inventory space per bucket, while the mini geode only occupies one and has multiple uses, but needs the player to wait more to recharge it with shards.
