Squids beaching themselves

Squids accidentally beach themselves all the time when they are in small ponds or rivers. They constantly die and I find a lot of inc sacs on shores. I'd like our discount squidwards to be alive, and healthy, soon.

    They should improve Squid movement and AI to maybe prevent that (at least for glow squids?)

    Agreed, they can be coded to avoid one-block deep water to avoid accidentally dying. Great idea.

    This really needs to be fixed. It's been unresolved and present in every version of the game since 2018.

    It's funny because squids flying and dying was a bug that people liked to talk about being fixed before Minecraft was even officially released, yet squids are constantly dying yet again so many years later.
    Mojang please fix this. Glow squids are cool but I never get to see them, they're always dead the instant they spawn.

    Normal squids are cool but they never stick around long either.

    I have a superflat survival world and I have a couple squids nametagged (you can't get them on superflat anymore) and this is a HUGE problem for me if i make a beach then the squids will just go out and die and i can't make it like a block taller cus then it would look ugly!
