We are updating the mountains in the 1.17, and volcano is a kind of mountain, they should have lava in the top and magma block for all the mountain, the volcano would be almost all made of smooth basalt and with a new stone, the onix, just a construction block. And as in the real life, they should have a fertile soil, the purple soil, and when you put your plants there, they will grow up 1.5 or 2.0x faster than in the normal soil. And the ruined nether portals would be generate with more frequency there.
