Wooden chippings

When I work in my shed, wood chippings often come off of designs. In Minecraft, the chest requires 7 wooden blocks, and would be a pretty big waste if you tell me. It would be great if wooden chippings could be added to come off of resource heavy wooden tools and projects, and 9 of them can be crafted into a wooden block. Also, chests should also be crafted with one iron nugget/ingot.
