As they currently exist, wandering traders occasionally sell the one item a player needs but can't obtain, but are mostly useless. As a small improvement, wandering traders should have a specific biome of origin that is different from the one in which they spawn. They should sell items from their biome of origin (e.g. traders from the jungle should sell jungle saplings and cocoa beans, traders from a mesa should sell red sand and terracotta, etc), and buy items from the biome in which they spawned (e.g. traders spawning in forest or plains biomes buy pumpkins, traders spawning in taigas should buy spruce saplings and podzol, etc). This would increase the chance of the trader selling the item the player needs, and also become a relatively easy (but not overpowered) source of emeralds.
