After messing around in creative mode, I noticed that thrown tridents cause Pointed Dripstone to break and fall while arrows and explosions from firework rockets don’t. I also noticed that falling Pointed Dripstone do not break any blocks regardless of how big the stalactite is, yet It breaks immediately after falling through a single cobweb.
I think that exploding firework rockets should cause Pointed Dripstone within 1 or 2 blocks of the explosion to fall. Pointed Dripstone Shouldn’t break immediately after falling through cobwebs. Falling Pointed Dripstone that are at least 2 blocks tall should be able to break through certain “weak” blocks such as glass, snow, leaves, and ice with the amount of blocks the falling dripstone can break being equal to the number of number of blocks in the stalactite “up to a maximum of 5 blocks”
