An item similar in function to a bed with the caveat that it does not set a new spawn point. This item would prevent the need to return to your base to skip the night, yet without reducing the utility of the bed. One might think "So it's just a less useful bed?" And essentially, yes it is, but it would serve different use cases, such as players of hardcore mode who have no need for setting spawn but still want to skip the night(it would be a cheaper alternative to a bed) nomadic play styles, or just to use while mining or building. The crafting recipe would be three wool in a row with a piece of string above the leftmost wool.
