I would like to suggest adding different wood variants for chests that match the existing wood types in Minecraft.
Currently, most wooden blocks, such as planks, doors, fences, signs, trapdoors, and boats have variants for each wood type (such as Oak, Spruce, Birch, Jungle, Acacia, Dark Oak, Mangrove, Cherry, Bamboo, and others). However, chests only have one default texture, which does not match many building styles.
Adding wood-specific chest variants would allow players to craft chests using different wood types, such as:
-
Spruce Chest
-
Birch Chest
-
Jungle Chest
-
Acacia Chest
-
Dark Oak Chest
-
Mangrove Chest
-
Cherry Chest
-
Bamboo Chest
-
and other future wood types
These chests would function exactly the same as normal chests but would have textures that match their wood type. This would improve building and decoration, allowing storage to blend better with different builds and themes.
For example, a spruce house could use spruce chests, or a cherry blossom build could use cherry chests, making interiors look more polished and consistent.
This would be a small change but a great quality-of-life improvement for builders and creative players who want more visual variety in their worlds.
