Description:
Swamps need more depth and unique resources. I propose a new sub-biome: the Peat Bog. This misty, treacherous area introduces a new organic fuel source and challenging terrain mechanics.
1. New Blocks & Items:
Peat Block: A dark, dense organic block found under layers of moss.
Peat Item: Obtained by breaking a Peat Block. It serves as an efficient Fuel source for furnaces, lasting longer than Charcoal.
Dried Peat: Smelting a Peat Block creates a "Dried Peat" brick, a deep-brown building material for rustic structures.
2. Biome Hazards & Mechanics:
Quagmire: Peat Bogs feature soft blocks that look like moss but cause players to sink slowly. This makes exploration tactical and dangerous.
Methane Pockets: Breaking peat deep underground may release gas bubbles that can be ignited with flint and steel for a small explosion.
3. Unique Flora:
Sphagnum Moss: A light-green carpet block that can absorb small amounts of water like a natural sponge.
Sundew: A small carnivorous plant that deals damage and applies Slowness to any small mob or player that steps on it.
Bog Cotton: A decorative white flower that can be crafted into String or Light Grey Dye.
Summary: This biome adds a realistic early-game fuel source and unique building blocks, making the wetlands a strategic destination for survivalists.
