When you build big in Minecraft, the hotbar stops being a tool and starts being friction. You are not making creative decisions, you are constantly swapping items for actions that last for one second. That micromanagement adds nothing to gameplay and actively breaks the building flow. It is frustrating and limiting your actions.
Large builds require massive amounts of blocks, yet the hotbar is already crowded before you even start. Three slots are effectively locked at all times by a pickaxe, an axe, and a shovel.
Movement adds another layer of friction. If you run a lot, you need food ready. That means either sacrificing another hotbar slot or constantly opening your inventory to move food in and out. This is not meaningful gameplay, it is busywork.
Vertical building makes things worse. You often need to change height quickly, so you rely on Elytra, fireworks, wind charges, or a mix of them depending on the situation. Each of these tools takes up hotbar space, even though they are usually needed for only a few seconds at a time.
Solution: Tool Belt - made of rabbit leather so cant be made early game. There might be new enchant like swift sneak but for faster taking out. You look at dirt, start to punch it, tool belt automatically takes your shovel out. We reduce hotbar from 3 slots for tools into 1 or even 0. Eating food could be possible from inventory instead hotbar, like u use bundle - doesnt need slot in hotbar.
