I thought fires in Minecraft might look better if wooden blocks charred.
The mechanics are as follows: if a fire ignites a wooden block, that block chars before burning. And when that block burns, it chars all adjacent wooden blocks. (The fire transmission mechanics remain unchanged.)
Charred blocks can be used for construction, creating structures that have survived a disaster.
When mining charred blocks, there is a small chance that they will drop charcoal.
