In short: Putting two (leather) armors in the crafting table should allow us to copy over the armor trim effect, as it works with banner patterns.
Use case: you want to dress up some mobs or armor stands, e.g. as waiters. You have a nice trim pattern for an outfit, but it would be too expensive to do for many mobs. With this change, you'd be able to craft only one armor and copy the pattern onto the other ones.
Why leather? To keep it hard for high-tier armours, mantaining the exclusivity of it, while allowing for creative roleplay (leather armor comes in many colours anyway).
