Burnt Grass Block

What if we had an option to turn ordinary grass blocks into black ones by using flint and steel, flame arrows, lava buckets, or fireballs?

Burnt grass blocks could also spawn naturally near the netherrack around ruined portals and lava pools in the Overworld.

New blocks could have unique sound effects:

1. When fire burns grass blocks
2. When lava burns grass blocks
3. When players step on burnt grass blocks
4. Removing the burnt grass layer

Another new mechanics could allow the players to remove the burnt grass layer by using a shovel, shears, or a brush, changing the burnt grass blocks into regular dirt blocks, from which the normal grass layer can regrow naturally.
