I think cheese would be a great addition to Minecraft.
Cheese could be obtained in two separate ways. These are alternative ideas, not combined mechanics:
Option 1 – Fermentation
If a player places a milk bucket into a cauldron and right-clicks it with either a brown or red mushroom, green crop-like particles would appear to indicate fermentation. After a few seconds, the milk would turn into cheese. Right-clicking the cauldron would give 4 cheese items.
Option 2 – Nether (Alternative Idea)
If a milk bucket is placed into a cauldron in the Nether, after some time steam particles (similar to drying wet sponges) would appear. Right-clicking would give 4 cheese items.
Cheese Properties
- Stackable up to 16 items (like snowballs).
- Works similarly to milk, but instead of removing all potion effects instantly, each cheese item reduces potion effect duration by 10 seconds.
- If reducing potion effects feels too unusual or unbalanced, cheese could simply function as a regular food item similar to pumpkin pie.
- Combining 4 cheese in a crafting table creates a decorative Cheese Block.
I believe this addition would fit perfectly in Minecraft because it:
- Does not break the game’s philosophy.
- Adds more uses for mushrooms and milk.
- Encourages creative survival mechanics.
- Works well across all platforms, including consoles and mobile.
Developers could adjust the idea to better fit the game’s balance and design.
You are doing a great job with the game — keep it up! Greetings :)
