We all know that Minecraft’s main and best feature is exploration—searching for new and better things. But… what really motivates a player to explore? Exactly: wonders.
There’s nothing more wonderful than stumbling upon a new structure and exploring it.
But… sooner or later… the player will find them all… What motivation will they have to keep exploring? WHAT!? Exactly… none…
Minecraft is a game of 60 million by 60 million blocks, yet it has very few structures or things worth discovering.
That’s why I make this proposal: bring back the Far Lands.
The Far Lands aren’t something players find just anywhere. They’re a bug, an error from a specific version. But I propose adding this terrain generation in a vanilla way.
“But players could just keep going and there wouldn’t be a clear limit.”
OF COURSE! But here’s the solution: the Far Lands shouldn’t be the world’s limit. Let the barrier remain the limit. But the Far Lands should appear… I don’t know, 1,000, 10,000, 50,000 blocks before the barrier.
There… there’s no better motivation and inspiration for a player than a wonder. This… this is the spark that Minecraft has been missing…
