LAN vs multiplayer difference

playing LAN worlds should not count under multiplayer and instead be a parental control that is separated from the multiplayer screen, allowing players to play on lan worlds without having to enable full multiplayer such as severs.

    Came here to post the same thing. I want my two children to be able to play in a local world together. I don't want them to play in a realm with thousands of strangers. It's ridiculous that I can't enable one without the other. These are completely different ways of playing the game, and lumping them in together in one setting completely fails to recognise how families use Minecraft.
