Furnace Recipe Book (Java Parity)

The latest Bedrock Preview release introduces a recipe book for furnaces, in parity with Java Edition. Browse recipes in the furnace, blast furnace and smoker, making smelting easier and more intuitive.

What’s new:

  • Furnace recipe book
  • Instantly populate the furnace by selecting a recipe
  • Filter recipes to quickly find what you can smelt


This is an early version, and some improvements are still on the way including recipe unlocking. Let us know what you think in the comments — your feedback helps shape future updates!

    Please use the correct terms for what these blocks do to the material added to them. A furnace does more than “smelt”. For example food is cooked, not smelted. Glass is melted. Terra cotta is fired. etc.

    This is a huge positive for the game quality of life! And with that, here are my suggestions for this new approach:
    - Add animation to the fuel slot with all items available for that use.
    - And add the same recipe book from Java's creative mode, but for the Bedrock crafting Interfaces! (Currently, only the common creative inventory exists in those interfaces).

    I really like this in the new update! Like someone said above, the brewing stand should have this too!

    The icons of the top tabs should mostly match Java. For example the magnifying glass should be a Compass, The Cooked Chicken should be a Raw Porkchop, The Glass should be a Stone Block, and the Gold Ingot should be a Lava bucket next to an Emerald.
