I propose a new anvil mechanic that allows players to combine two swords of different materials to create a hybrid weapon with increased damage output. For example, merging a wooden sword with a netherite sword would craft a 'Wooden Netherite Sword' that deals 9 hearts of damage instead of the standard 8, with the wooden base adding one extra heart. This concept would scale so that each better sword material adds +2 hearts when combined—for instance, stone with netherite would add 2 hearts, iron would add 4, diamond would add 6, and so on. Additionally, if the secondary sword is enchanted, the number of enchantments on it would directly boost the damage further. So if I had a golden sword with 6 enchantments and combined it with a netherite sword, the total damage would increase significantly—first from the gold material bonus, plus an additional 6 hearts because of the enchantments. This system would reward players who invest in enchanting, encourage creative weapon customization, and make anvil crafting far more strategic and rewarding. This can be also used for other weapons but not items like flint and steel or potions or etc.
This can be only allowed only if using certain levels of XP for example if you have 30 levels you can only enchant weapons with only 2 enchants and only adds only 2 damage if you reach 40 it doubles and same with the more levels you reach
