Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Curtains, curtain rods, and windows

I suggest adding windows that look like glass panels, but can be opened like gates.
 
I also suggest curtains, crafted from fabric, that can be placed on glass panels or windows, and they open. When closed, they block out light.
 
Curtains also don't let in sounds like wool.
 
(Curtains on windows open immediately with the windows.)
 
Curtains can also be simply placed as a block on the wall, like paintings, flags, frames, etc. But for this, they require curtain rods, which are crafted from two sticks.
