I think that creating an eagle would be a great addition because there is only 1 bird which is the parrot. The eagle could be tamed to use and hunt rabbits, and then bring the rabbit meat back, and you need a leather glove like the one they use the falcons, which could be crafted with leather or traded at a village, and then you hold it or put it where your chestplate armor goes. If you have enough Eagles, it can hunt slightly larger animals such as pigs or sheep. I also think that it could create nests that you could loot meat and other basic materials from.
The eagle could also drop feathers that can be used in a certain potion (maybe a gliding one where it works like an elytra but cannot go upwards, or a jumping potion). I also think that after you get enough eagle feathers, you can create one of those native american headband things that could make you do more damage, and is crafted with only a leather helmet and 5 eagle feathers (you cannot use any other helmet because then it would be way too good). They should also be decently rare, and I guess like the chicken there can be regional species.
