Add damage absorption when falling on a wool block

Why does the player bounce when falling on a bed made with wool, but not on the wool itself? Okay, so be it, but why doesn't wool at least absorb fall damage like a bale of hay?
 
If you liked the idea, here's something similar: bouncing off/for slimes
