sniffer egg block!!

Now, I'm sure this idea has already been put out there before, but in my favorite minecrafte youtuber Grian's most recent video, he expressed his want for the sniffer egg to become a block. I had the idea that maybe the player could put the sniffer egg into a furnace to essentially hard-boil it, and that turns it into a block. I'm not the best of minecrafters, nor do I play often, but I hope you take my idea into consideration!! <3
