When the compass is in the inventory (not in hand, but in the inventory or even in a bundle), the coordinates are displayed in the corner of the screen.
When the map is in the inventory, the biome is also displayed in addition to the coordinates.
If the compass or map is in the inventory, when zooming in, the coordinates and biome of the block the player is looking at will be displayed in the corner of the screen.
Using a map and a feather, you can create your own treasure map. Clicking the map on a chest will mark it as treasure. Renaming the map will clear it and allow you to share it with a friend.
