The modding and data pack community is plagued by duplication and incompatibility. Dozens of mods create their own versions of basic items like "Flour" or "Steel Ingot" with different IDs, textures, and recipes. This forces players and pack makers to use complex compatibility mods, fracturing the ecosystem.
The Solution:
We request Mojang to add a set of official, non-functional base items to the minecraft: namespace. These would serve as universal "interface items" that all creators can safely use.
