I don't like that the horse interface has slots for saddles and armor. Why can't you just create one slot, one for either saddle or armor, and add the saddle when crafting horse armor?
And to control a horse without a saddle, you can simply add wheat on a stick, which will also be used to control llamas even without a saddle. Cows and sheep will also follow the wheat on a stick.
However, carrots, wheat, and warped mushrooms on a stick will break when used (as if the animal were eating the food), leaving a regular fishing rod without food. Animals will also be able to eat the food on a stick faster if they need to regenerate health (so the player doesn't have to dismount).
I'd also like to see the ability to equip horse armor on mules, as many players don't even know it exists.
I also don't understand why donkeys, mules, and llamas don't have a dedicated chest slot in their interface. Even though I've been playing Minecraft for a long time, I still haven't figured out how to attach a chest to animals. This would also help determine whether a chest can be placed on a creature (for example, a horse or camel can't, but a mule, donkey, or llama can).
But right now, if a chest is already attached to a creature, it can't be removed, even with shears. The only way is to kill it.
