“Similar ideas have been suggested before, but this version proposes a consistent rule for all hostile mobs in all dimensions, including bosses.”
Peaceful mode should remove combat stress, not remove access to mobs, drops, and core survival mechanics.
Instead of disabling hostile mob spawns, Peaceful could make all hostile mobs passive toward players in every dimension.
Core rule: Hostile mobs spawn and behave normally, but never deal direct damage to players.
Players could still defeat mobs for important drops like bones, string, gunpowder, blaze rods, ender pearls, and other progression items.
This rule would apply consistently across the entire game:
Overworld mobs (zombies, skeletons, creepers, spiders, etc.)
Nether mobs (blazes, ghasts, piglins, hoglins, wither skeletons, etc.)
End mobs (endermen, shulkers, the Ender Dragon, etc.)
Bosses like the Warden and Wither
Danger would come from the environment (lava, falling, void), not forced combat.
This would make Peaceful a complete alternative playstyle while keeping the world alive and all progression paths available.
