Armor Toughness in Minecraft Bedrock Edition

Armor toughness was introduced to Minecraft Bedrock Edition in version 1.18.30. However, to this day, the Add-on API still does not allow defining armor toughness for items!

This results in Add-on armor providing less protection than Netherite armor when taking a single, large hit.

    This should've been a thing a long time ago! Yes indeed. Addon armor does actually provide less protection against stronger attacks than Both Diamond and Netherite, since they have armor toughness (Diamond has 8 and Netherite has 12 for full sets.)
