Allowing every item to be placed in the off-hand slot in Minecraft Bedrock Edition would finally bring parity to one of the game's most lopsided mechanical divides. Currently, Bedrock players are restricted to a handful of items like shields and maps, while Java Edition players enjoy the massive "quality of life" boost of holding torches, food, or tools in their secondary hand. Opening up the off-hand would streamline gameplay—allowing players to mine and light caves simultaneously or build with two different blocks at once—transforming the off-hand from a specialized equipment slot into a true extension of the player's reach and efficiency.
Why this change matters:
Combat Versatility: Holding potions or golden apples while keeping a sword ready.
Building Efficiency: Swapping between a pickaxe and a placement block without scrolling the hotbar.
Exploration: Placing torches in the dark while keeping your main hand free for defense.
