The goal is to introduce a realistic preservation cycle that applies to all botanical food sources in the game. This transforms farming from "collect and eat" into a strategic survival process.
The Drying Rack: A simple wooden frame for natural dehydration.
Universal Application: Players can dry any fruit or vegetable found in the world — apples, sweet berries, glow berries, melon slices, carrots, and even the new Baobab fruits.
The Benefit: * Standardized Rations: Once dried, different foods become "Standardized Rations." They stack perfectly (up to 64) and never rot (if a spoilage mechanic is ever added).
Exploration Fuel: Dried food provides a fast consumption time and high saturation. It’s the only logical food source for players who want to travel thousands of blocks away from their base.
Environmental Logic: The drying process depends on the biome. In Deserts or Badlands, it’s twice as fast. In Swamps or during Rain, the process stops, forcing players to understand and respect the weather and climate.
