Plants are a varietal and integral part of Minecraft. Greenery exists in almost every biome in Minecraft. But obtaining large quantities of plants can be tricky. Sometimes, you lack the proper biome, other times, you lack the tools, so what if there was a way to more easily acquire these plants? The Botany Table would allow players to duplicate pre-existing plants in a similar way to armor trims. To craft the Botany Table, the player would use 4 of any wooden plank, 1 Shears of any durability, and a bone block (in a 2x3 grid, with the 4 planks at the bottom, the Shears to the left and the Bone Block to the right). The player would be able to input Bone Meal as a fuel source, similar to the Brewing Stand, utilizing 1/3 of a Bone Meal per use of the Botany Table. By inputting one of any plant, as well as some Hanging Roots, the player will be able to use 1 of the Hanging Roots that the input to duplicate the specific plant that they input. In order to balance the Botany Table, some plants may be excluded:
- Sniffer Exclusive Plants
- Nether/End Exclusive Plants
- Mushrooms
- Grass Blocks
- Crop Plants
- Moss/Pale Moss
Using the Botany Table once could give the player the "Green Thumb" Advancement.
This not only gives players more easy access to large quantities of specific plant types, but also gives a niche to the Hanging Roots, a rather underutilized part of Minecraft.
