I suggest adding a system to process fruits into Jam. This is a purely functional mechanic designed for inventory management and high-density nutrition. No magic, no potion effects.
1. The Process:
Fruits (Apples, Berries, Glow Berries, Melon) are boiled with Sugar in a Cauldron or Smoker.
Result: A "Jar of Jam".
2. Nutritional Density:
Jam condenses the nutritional value of multiple fruits into one item.
Benefit: It restores a large amount of hunger and saturation at once. This is far more efficient for long expeditions than carrying stacks of raw fruit.
3. Inventory Management:
A stack of 64 apples is hard to carry. 8 jars of jam provide the same value but leave more room for ores and tools.
It rewards players for taking the time to "prepare" for a journey instead of just eating off the ground.
4. Realistic Constraints:
No Potato Jam: Realistic logic only. Potatoes are for roasting, fruits are for preserving.
Storage: Jars can be placed as blocks (like cakes) or eaten directly.
Why it's needed:
Minecraft survival needs more "Nature Literacy." Players should be encouraged to process their harvest. This adds a strategic layer to farming and makes "useless" fruits like Glow Berries or Beets (for syrup/jam) valuable.
