Minecraft Dungeons has been dead for quite a long time. And while Dungeons never really became a phenomenon, everyone unanimously agreed that the game has potential.
One of the things Minecraft itself has been known for the most is modding (or Add-Ons in case of Bedrock). And with the foundation Dungeons had set, that potential could be expanded upon greatly by allowing people to create custom content for the game. However, despite statements from staff that they were looking forward to custom creations and that it would be „weird to not allow it, as it is part of the game's identity“, every step possible has been taken to prevent people from modding the game.
Themida is one of the most aggressive anti-tamper and obfuscation toolsuite on the market, and is infact used by the PC version of Minecraft Dungeons. That, alongside the encryption of asset bundles and weirdly hostile behavior towards showcases of successful attempts towards the Dokucraft team shows that preventing modding was a very deliberate decision.
I doubt it's very controversial to say that Dungeons is dead nowadays. But Unreal 4 and all its editing tools very much still exist.
My suggestion is: Remove Themida and allow people to mod the game. Nothing else is necessary, we can take it from there. Decrypting asset bundles is trivial, blueprint loaders already exist, and patches to the cpp side can be made easily. Entire SDKs can be generated from third party tools, but Themida prevents all of this.
