This would be something that would add to the nether without being redundant and being a cool place to explore! It would be something like the mineshafts in the overworld, although it would be more like vertical holes, although it would still have horizontal tunnels.
You would enter from the surface by finding either one of the holes (probably 8 blocks or so wide) or digging down after finding something in the shape of an old mine elevator/crane (a nonfunctioning cosmetic structure made out of blackstone, blackstone walls, iron bars, chains, and a lever). The way down would be a ruined/crudely made staircases/ledge, and it could start at any height and go down to the bedrock floor. Mob wise, magma cubes, skeletons, and piglins would make the most sense.
Of course, there would be nether gold veins, but there would also be forge rooms (chests, furnaces, maybe grindstones and rarely an anvil), dungeons/jails (iron bars, chains, lanterns, and a possibility of chests), and armories/supply rooms (some furnishings like a "table", chests with food and weapons/armor, and whatever else would make sense). The chests would be similar to bastions but more mining focused (no music disks, more frequent templates and pickaxes/related enchanted books, but the same otherwise).
Overall, it would be just another cool structure in the game that would fit the theme of the piglins, give another chance for some loot/fun exploration, and give a bit more to the story of the nether.
