Hi Mojang, I’ve got a few suggestions for a river update that could make the rivers in Minecraft look way more interesting.
We all know Minecraft has rivers in the overworld, but let’s be honest, the river atmosphere feels outdated right now because there hasn’t been an update to make them feel vibrant. So, here are a few ideas I had for a river overhaul:
•Flowing Rivers
"In real life, rivers flow from upstream to downstream. If we added an actual flow to the water, Minecraft rivers would feel so much more realistic. Imagine players or mobs actually getting carried away by the current that would be such a cool mechanic to have."
•Sloped Rivers
"This would look great if river paths were more varied and the rivers themselves were made a bit wider."
•Water Plants
"Adding more aquatic plants that generate along the riverbanks or in shallow, one-block-deep water would help everything look more natural and vibrant. Maybe this is where frogs and fireflies could spawn?"
•Freshwater Fish Variety
"We need more than just salmon. Adding catfish or bass would make river ecosystems feel distinct from the oceans."
That’s pretty much it for my ideas. I really hope Mojang considers these!
