Goats have been in Minecraft for a long time, but they still don't drop any food. I suggest adding Goat Meat and a new mob variant: the Domestic Goat.
Key Features:
Goat Meat (Chevon): This new food source drops from both the existing Mountain Goats and the new Domestic Goats.
Cooked Goat Meat should be a highly nutritious food source for mountain survival.
Domestic Goat: A new variant that spawns in mountain villages. They are friendly and perfect for farming.
Farming & Care:
Feeding: Goats can be bred and fed using Hay Bales or Wheat.
Milk: You can collect milk from them using a bucket, making them a portable source of dairy.
Logic: Adding meat to goats makes them as useful as cows and sheep, filling a gap in the game's survival mechanics.
Why this?
It makes sense for a survival game. If you live in the mountains, you should be able to farm goats for meat and milk just like you farm cows on the plains.
