I suggest adding the European Wildcat to the Forest and Taiga biomes. While it may look like a domestic tabby, it is a distinct, much larger, and fiercer predator that adds a layer of realism to the game's ecosystem.
1. Appearance and Distinctions:
The Wildcat should be noticeably bulkier than the current Minecraft Cat. It features a thick, bushy tail with a black blunt tip and distinct horizontal stripes. Its fur is a mix of grey and brown to blend perfectly with tree bark and shadows.
2. Behavior: The Solitary Ghost
Wildcats are solitary and nocturnal.
Fear of Humans: Unlike domestic cats, they should never approach players. They will vanish into the undergrowth the moment they detect a player moving nearby.
Territorial: They are hostile toward Rabbits, Chickens, and Baby Pigs.
3. Unique Mechanic: The Anti-Tame
To maintain realism, Wildcats cannot be tamed. If you try to give them fish, they might take it, but they will stay wild. However, if a Wildcat lives near a village, it might occasionally crossbreed with a Domestic Cat, creating a unique "Hybrid" kitten with a rare texture.
4. Utility:
Having a Wildcat in your forest is beneficial because they keep the Creeper population away (like all felines) and hunt down Rabbits that might otherwise eat your garden crops.
