This overworld biome has been requested a few times I see. This forest would provide a good transition between the more Deciduous like Forest Biome and the Spruce dominated Taigas.
The Maple Forest would give players the Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green Maples that would help add a bit of an autumnal touch to the world. These trees will be a smaller tree which makes them perfect for decorating areas without having massive tree crowns. The forest floor would be a mix of stone and dirt/course dirt to mimic to Maple forest of North America. It would also add new Maple shrubs (of the same color scheme) that act like the ferns providing more decoration and shrubbery.
Maple wood would remain the same for all the trees. This will give an amazing addition with adding a grey or light brown hued wood for players building options.
Extra addition, adding a tap and cauldron under it gives you tree sap. If cooked in smoker/furnace gives you sugar, if combined with water bottle gives you syrup. You can then use syrup and wheat to make flapjacks (or any alike meal item).
A new ambient animal in the biome would be the Bluejay and Cardinal. Both can be tamed like chickens and will sing tunes through chirping.
A new mob would be the stone golem. They feel the players stepping on the hard stones and will give chase to players that get too close to their guarding treasure. Inside the golem is a rare gem (add which ever, diamond/amethyst/new stone) used for enchanting.
