I propose adding a new biome called the Rice Bayou (or Rice Fields). It’s a flat, water-rich biome inspired by East Asian landscapes. It features shallow water, new vegetation, and a unique functional crop: Rice.
Key Features:
The Biome: A serene landscape with shallow water (0.5 blocks deep), weeping willow trees, and a light green grass tint. It’s the perfect place for a beautiful base.
Rice Farming: Rice grows naturally in the shallow water of this biome.
To farm it, you plant Rice Seeds directly into water-logged tilled soil.
It grows in three stages, turning from bright green to golden yellow when ready for harvest.
New Food Items:
Rice Bowl: Crafted from 3 Rice + 1 Bowl. A basic, reliable food source.
Onigiri: Rice wrapped in Dried Kelp. High saturation!
Sushi: Combine Rice, Dried Kelp, and Raw Fish (Salmon or Cod).
New Block - Thatch: You can craft Rice Straw into Thatch blocks, which are perfect for creating traditional roofs and rustic buildings.
Why it’s great:
Minecraft needs more water-based farming. The Rice Bayou adds a unique atmosphere and a versatile new food system that rewards players for exploring and building in wet biomes.
