Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Tomatoes: A New Vertical Crop with Unique Growth Mechanics

 

I suggest adding Tomatoes to Minecraft. This crop should introduce a more technical approach to farming compared to existing plants.

Key Features:

Vertical Growth: Unlike carrots or potatoes, tomatoes grow on vines that can reach up to 1.5 or 2 blocks in height. To grow vertically, they require a support, such as a fence or a "Garden Stake." If there is no support, the plant spreads on the ground with a much lower harvest yield.

Harvesting Mechanic: Similar to Sweet Berries, players can right-click a mature tomato plant to harvest 2–3 tomatoes. This allows for a continuous harvest without destroying the entire vine.

Food and Recipes: - Raw Tomato: Restores a small amount of hunger and saturation.

Tomato Soup: A new high-saturation meal crafted in a bowl.

Sliced Tomatoes: An ingredient that could be combined with bread or other foods.
