To any reasonable person I shouldn't have to explain why this is a bad idea but I shall explain:
Governments are increasingly in favor of age verification for internet users, not only is this an invasion of people's privacy it will do nothing to protect children on the intent, which is what goverments claim these policies should do. This is obviously terrible for Minecraft, adult players will now have to send sensitive information to Microsoft to fully enjoy the game and people will be one dataleak away from identity fraud. But what about the children? They could be blocked from functionality that they had safely interacted with before, if their account was owned by their parents then they might still be able to access adult only content
