I think adding a zombie bite / infection mechanic to Minecraft could make Hardcore and survival modes much more exciting.
When a player is bitten by a zombie, they become infected. After being infected:
• The player’s skin color slowly turns green, visually showing the infection.
• The player’s maximum health is limited to 3–4 hearts, and this limit gradually decreases over time.
• Similar to zombies, the infected player starts burning in daylight.
This creates interesting survival choices:
• Trying to reach home during the day using water buckets to avoid burning.
• Or taking a riskier approach by only traveling at night.
An infected player cannot heal using normal food.
The only cure is a special potion.
Many players who don’t play in a very “tryhard” way often ignore potion brewing entirely.
With this mechanic, learning potion brewing becomes necessary, adding a new survival dynamic and encouraging players to engage with an underused system.
I really hope you consider this idea.. it could add a unique and immersive layer to the game.
