Minecraft Bedrock Edition currently has a hard render distance cap of 28 chunks, which makes sense for lower-end devices such as phones and older consoles. However, this same limit also applies to high-end PCs that are fully capable of handling much larger view distances while maintaining stable performance.
Allowing higher render distance options specifically for high-end devices would greatly improve immersion, exploration, and large-scale building. Being able to see distant mountains, skylines, and large builds from farther away would make worlds feel more complete, especially in creative mode and long-term survival worlds.
This could be implemented as an optional or experimental setting clearly labeled as “use at your own risk,” so lower-end devices remain protected while advanced users are given more flexibility. Java Edition already allows this level of customization, and offering a similar option in Bedrock would help reduce the gap between editions while still maintaining stability.
Additionally, allowing higher render distance on capable devices would likely make many players happy and increase Bedrock Edition’s popularity on PC, showing that player feedback is being listened to without negatively impacting users on lower-end hardware.
