With the new, even cuter baby mob models in Minecraft, it feels like a missed opportunity that they still grow up automatically. Many players would love to keep certain baby mobs small permanently, similar to how the Copper Golem concept used oxidation stages to “freeze” its appearance.
Proposal-
Introduce a mechanic that lets players intentionally stop a baby mob from growing up. This could be done through:
• A special item (like a “Growth Charm” or “Pacifier”)
• A potion effect (e.g., “Stasis”)
• A block interaction (like feeding them something unique)
Once applied, the baby mob would stay in its adorable chibi form forever unless the player removes the effect.
Why This Would Be Great
• Baby mobs are extremely popular and visually appealing.
• Players love customizing their worlds and pets.
• It adds a harmless, fun, cosmetic feature with no balance issues.
• Works perfectly for farms, builds, roleplay, and creative worlds.
Optional-
Allow naming a baby mob with a Name Tag to automatically freeze its growth: simple, intuitive, and uses an existing mechanic.
