We've alllllll wanted a use for the fletching table, alright? Currently, it only serves as a workstation for villagers. This could explain why they're able to sell you things like tipped arrows, so why can't we do something similar?
My idea is that you could use a fletching table to combine materials to arrows, using a binding ingredient to put them together. Some examples include:
• Amethyst Shards + String = Arrows that emit a slight "ding" sound effect and double the durability damage to armor.
• Pointed Dripstone + Vines (or Leads?) = Arrows that fly half as far, but do 25% more damage than normal arrows (stacks with the Power enchantment). The only catch is that these arrows will shatter upon impact, whether they hit their target or not.
• Prismarine Shards + String = Arrows that fly almost completely straight when underwater; useful for underwater combat if the player doesn't have access to a Trident yet. Using Prismarine Crystals instead will also grant the target the Glowing effect.
• Blaze Powder + Weeping/Warped Vines = Arrows that are on fire, keeping someone on fire for the same amount of time as if they were in lava. These arrows will even work if exposed to water, but the fire won't last nearly as long, especially if the enemy has Fire Protection on their armor.
One last thing: One arrow in, one arrow out. These aren't like tipped arrows, where 1 lingering potion makes 8 arrows of that type.
I really hope that you like these ideas! Let's look forward to the future!
